AWESOME
COFFEE

Founded by one of the first 6 employees of RX Bar, Awesome Coffee aims to be your new and improved morning cup of Joe.

I was hired to develop the UX and work with the branding agency to finalize the website before launch. Over 6 months we prototyped, interviewed, and tailored the website to its target consumer’s needs.

PART 1
PLANNING
RESEARCH

It was imperative that enough research was done before any work began. Being in such a competitive market had it’s advantages though : an abundance of places to pull inspiration from.

After recognizing who our top competitors were, we moved on to the next phase…

TARGET AUDIENCE

Phase two included finding the target audience through email blasts announcing that the product was coning soon.

The email contained a survey that included questions like age, gender, occupation, exercise habits and more. With over 100 replies, we were able to get an idea of what type of person would visit Awesome Coffee’s website.

PART 2
WIREFRAMING

After about 6 iterations of wireframes, we were extremely happy with what we ended up with. One of the hardest parts of this project was the fact that I was working on these wireframes before I ever saw what the branding looked like.

This turned out to be a blessing in disguise though, as it allowed me to focus in on the experience users would have without any distractions.

PART 3
INTERVIEWS

The founder and I conducted over 30 interviews with a wide variety of people, including what we determined to be the target audience.

The data collected really helped influence the informational flow of the design considering the fact that no one has ever really heard of a product like Awesome Coffee.

PART 4
INTERFACE DESIGN

Once the branding agency finished creating Awesome Coffee’s logo and brand, the brand manual was handed over to me so that I can begin creating the first few prototypes for each page.

Once finished, the pages were then handed back to the agency so that they could make some adjustments that helped fully use the brand image they developed.

The final product was finally approved after 6 months of research, interviews, and 5 iterations of the website.

PART 4
THE FINAL PRODUCT

Truly representing the mission and feel of the brand, the final website is vibrant, beautiful, joyful, and most importantly : AWESOME!
